I’m a native Japanese speaker based in Tokyo and Osaka. I started Native Japan Guide because I kept getting the same question from people learning Japanese: “which app or tutor should I actually use?” So instead of guessing, I sign up for these platforms myself, work through their free tiers and trials, and write up what each one is genuinely good for.
What this site is
Native Japan Guide is a collection of honest, hands-on reviews and guides for people learning Japanese — covering apps, tutoring platforms, and practical study methods. Every review is based on time I’ve actually spent using the product myself, not just reading marketing pages.
Who’s writing this
I’m a native Japanese speaker living between Tokyo and Osaka. I’m not a professional app reviewer by trade — I write this site because I care about people getting accurate, practical advice instead of recycled marketing copy. My opinions and recommendations are my own and aren’t influenced by any compensation I may receive (see the Disclaimer for details).
